Employment Opportunities

Chatsworth Primary School employs over 80 staff in both academic and support staff positions.  The school has excellent facilities which are set in a spacious site, including a large field, all weather pitch and outdoor learning centre.

We are a 3 form entry school. Despite our size, we take pride in our 'small school approach' nurturing children and adults alike. We are committed to development our whole school curriculum to ensure that it reflects the needs of our children and engages them in learning. We are a school that is committed to ensuring that children learn to read for pleasure and value the knowledge and skills they gain whilst attending our school.

We value our staff highly and have a reputation for the quality of staff training and professional development we provide, such as school INSET, training opportunities, peer mentoring and collaboration with nearby schools, to name a few examples.

We also encourage and support staff to develop their capacity for leadership.  A significant number of our senior staff started at Chatsworth as NQTs themselves and staff are frequently appointed to senior posts here and at other schools.

Our Wellbeing Team ensures we look out for each other as well as children and the community.

Our staff members benefit from teaching a dynamic and creative curriculum in a friendly, well-resourced and supportive environment.

Our children are inspired to learn by our dedicated staff team delivering a range of lessons including French, PE and Music lessons across the school.

There are many opportunities for all staff to make an invaluable contribution to the success of the school, getting involved in different aspects of school life and helping to educate the 'whole child'.

We encourage all prospective candidates to visit the school.  These visits can be arranged by contacting the school office.

Don't just take our word for it, read what some of our staff have to say:

"I can honestly say that making the decision to work at Chatsworth was the best move I ever made.  Everyone is supportive and welcoming and the children are hardworking and well behaved.  There is a huge emphasis placed on work/life balance from senior management and everyone has a voice which is listened to.  In addition, career development is also high on the priority list and there are plenty of opportunities provided to progress your practice".

Senior Teacher, appointed September 2016

"Coming into a new school halfway through the year as an NQT was a daunting prospect, but being surrounded by such welcoming and supportive staff from day one was fantastic and that helped me settle in really quickly.  Chatsworth is full of passionate and experienced teachers that I am proud to have as colleagues.  The diversity within the school is embraced and celebrated, and the excellent classrooms help us make each day productive and enjoyable for the children.  I couldn't have chosen a better school to begin my teaching career".
