We are focusing on developing the children’s scientific enquiry skills, which include; noticing patterns, observing changes over time, grouping or classifying, researching using secondary sources of information, as well as carrying out investigations. We are particularly encouraging the children to develop their use of questioning within each of these areas.
Within Little Fawns, Nursery and Reception, children are provided with opportunities to explore the world through objects, materials and living things. They are encouraged to engage in discussions, make observations and explain what they have seen.
Within Key Stage 1 and 2, we follow a differentiated curriculum which builds upon the children’s previous learning. This is based on the Department for Education’s National Curriculum for Science.
