At Chatsworth, children from Yr 1 through to Yr 6 are taught basic first aid following the Red Cross' 'Life. Live  it' scheme of work. Children are shown what to do in a number of first aid situations. These include:

• asthma attacks
• burns
• if someone is unresponsive
• cuts
• breaks
• chocking

The children also learn how to keep themselves safe in a first aid situation as well as what to say during a 999 emergency call.
