School Closure Activities
Hello everyone! We hope that you and your families are well. While school is closed to most pupils, we will be updating this page with suggested daily or weekly learning activities for Writing, Maths and Foundation subjects. Some of these will be links to website activities and others will be activities to complete in your exercise books or on paper. Some will be practical activites.
We will also include a list of Year One spelling words which could be practised at home. In addition, we will attach some Phonics activities which would support the children's learning.
It is important to keep reading with the children as much as possible. Extra Bug Club books will be available for the children but any reading is good reading. Please also see the Reading Comprehension section for a chance to practise reading and writing skills.
Mathletics activities will continue to be assigned too so do keep checking.
Please note that these suggested activities are just suggestions based on the Year One curriculum that we would be covering at this time of the year. There are lots of wonderful activities and experiences that you could enjoy at home. You could make your own shop with toys and household objects, using labels for the prices. Can you total the cost of the objects? How about writing a story and making your own book? Practise drawing your favourite animal or character. Practise getting better at riding your bike or scooter or get a skipping rope and learn to skip. Make a card for someone special. Ask your adults to help you learn to cook or bake something. Plant seeds or do some gardening. Learn to tie your shoelaces! Get building and make a rocket or a den. Get moving and play some sports. Make some music and create your own dance. Have fun playing games. Enjoy!
We hope that you stay safe and happy at home and hope to see you back very soon.
