Homework Information
In year 5, the children will be given 5 pieces of homework each week. Spellings, mathletics, spag, times table rock stars, bug club.
We also expect that your child reads for at least 20 minutes a day. A book will be set every week on Bug Club.
If you would like to carry out extra activities here are some options you may wish to choose:
- discussing key characters and settings
- making a list of unfamiliar words and their meanings
- discussing the book with your child and the events that occur
Spellings are given every Friday which must be learnt and practiced using sentences DAILY as we carry out a spelling on the following Thursday or Friday.
Mathletics homework Homework will be set on Mathletics every week and will be based on the topic we have been learning that week
SPAG is set on spag.com and helps children to practise test style questions.
Times Table Rock Star helps children to practise their times tables for the test on a Friday.
Please ensure that your child is completing homework.
